GrowthPoints was founded in 2020 as an executive coaching and management consulting firm. We’re incorporated federally, as we do business across Canada, and are based in Victoria, British Columbia.
Kate Fagan Taylor is the founder and principal of GrowthPoints. Kate leads most projects, and has a network of skilled subcontractors who contribute when it’s to the benefit of a client.
We support the development of self-aware leaders, empowering them to create positive change in the world. Our coaching and programs help executives and their teams drive impactful transformation that is visionary, personal, relational and systemic.

Meet Kate
Our Principal, Kate Fagan Taylor, is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC), a Board Certified Coach (BCC) and an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation.
Kate is the Principal of GrowthPoints; we also tap into a fantastic network of skilled subcontractors with specific types specialties that we can bring onto projects as required (with the agreement of our clients) when it will be to the benefit of the client.
Kate’s coaching is informed by her own experiences as a successful executive leader, ranging from leading a successful tech startup to serving as the senior official responsible for governance and policy at the University of Victoria. Kate directed Crown governance and accountability at the Crown Agencies Resource Office and served on executive teams at the BC Ministries of Health, Finance, and Advanced Education.
As a certified Management Consultant, Kate has provided strategy development leadership for initiatives in the health, post-secondary, not-for-profit, and citizens’ services sectors.
Formerly, Kate directed Executive Talent Management for the BC Public Service. Kate loves mentoring executive leaders and understands the unique challenges and opportunities of times of rapid growth and change. As a certified Executive Coach, Kate helps new and underrepresented executives find their voices, lead with their unique strengths, have social impact and share their stories to inspire others.
Kate’s early career background built unique skills that she uses to help leaders reflect, take value-based action and grow healthy, inclusive, successful organizations. With a Masters of Divinity degree from the University of Notre Dame, Kate served eight years as a university chaplain (University of Victoria Interfaith Chaplaincy) and three years as executive director of the Queenswood Retreat Centre. This early training and experience in an intercultural setting helps Kate empower her clients to discover meaning and achieve purpose together through powerful dialogue, facilitation and coaching that is always focused on results.
Recently, Kate delivered a TEDx talk on making decisions with greater freedom, a DisruptHR talk on building extraordinary work cultures, and was awarded the “Rising Star” award by the Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CMC-BC).
Kate lives in Victoria, BC, and served on the Board of Directors for Island Women in Technology (iWIST), which promotes equity and inclusion for women in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) careers. Currently, Kate volunteers with Catalyste+, a Canadian economic development organization.
